Do you want a rear view camera for your Tundra?

For those of you with Tundra's, you know there are not many options when it comes to a back-up camera. Well I found a solution!! This is kinda two posts rolled into one from Tundrasolutions.com, copy and paste, lol. That is where the links point to because we need a central thread so the manufacturer can see the demand. If you are COMPLETELY against signing up on that forum you can PM me on here and I will post it in the thread for you.

I do need some information though. What are the differences in the tailgate handles between the different years/models of Tundra's? I know the limiteds are color keyesd, mainly I am concerned about differences between the DC and AC, and differences between the different years (are the 04-06 the same, how about the 01-06???)

Let me know, I am trying to get something rolling!!!

Ok UPDATE!!!!

We have very exciting news!!!

Just got off the phone with the manufacturer. They said that they currently do not have plans to make one for the Toyota, BUT, and thats a big BUT

Now, if we get 30-40 people interested in making a Tundra specific tailgate handle back-up camera, they WILL make one Start showing your support and post to the thread linked above!!!! The sooner they see the demand, the sooner they can start putting resources towards designing and testing one!!!!!

EDIT: The price would probably be $200 -$250. The camera is a high quality CCD camera, NOT a CMOS camera. Also, this only replaces the handle bezel, not the actual handle. So if you have a limited, the handle would be color keyed, and this would be normal black plastic just like what is on the SR5's. I am sure this could be painted to match though. Even not painted, I think the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages of not having the bezel color keyed!

Just to give you an idea of what it looks like and the view you would get (The monitor view one is from an SUV, so the view might be a little different on a pickup:

[COLOR="Blue"]To show your support (= you would purchase one) post so in this thread. I will show the manufacturer this thread to show that there is indeed demand for such a product!!

Got the manufacturer to make the backup camera!!! Check the tundrasolutions link in the first post to see updates. Not much interest here since there are mostly 4runners on here, but if you want to make a camera for the 4runner, that might also be possible.
