( this is how i bought it for $800), needing some help on dignosing the issue

Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge??
Pumping does not mean it is correct
How much gas is in the tank??
Are your plugs wet
have you checked the injectors are firing ??
Then you really don`t know if the person you bought it from is being up front
This issue might have nothing to do with it being washed.
Mouse nest in the air intake system?? the intake manifold i got a truck that way for free.
Back to the basics Spark fuel air compression
Go from there.

sounds like a cracked air intake hose after the afm and before the turbo. pictures of the engine bay to see how everything is set up would help. also ignitor might be toast or the ground in there is corroded?
start checking for fuel flow, ignition, wiring connectors, dist cap, air plumbing, cold start injector (might be running off of the cold start inj then dieing when the timing temp switch turns off) listen/feel the injectors to see if they are clicking/opening.
the problem could be worse like the one i am having with my 7mgte.....

22re turbo issue
hello everyone...i also have a turbo question. first time 4runner owner. i have a 1987 4runner with a 22re turbo automatic. it seems to run/pull better when with 1/3 throttle than 3/4 throttle....ie less boost. it has a t3 turbo apparently. the turbo has an exhaust leak. i was told it was the gasket. would that be the problem or something else. ty for any help

Turbo issues
I would check the rubber connectors on the air intake to make sure they are not cracked, that is a very common problem and would check that over very closely first and foremost. And make sure all clamps on the connections are tight.
