I'm seriously lost on this truck and have exhausted every effort I know of to fix it. If someone can help me get it started I will payppal 20$.

I have a 95 pickup 22re. About 3 or 4 times a year I get a no start. The truck will crank for days but won't start, then magically it will. When this happens I am still getting spark to the plugs, and fuel to the motor but it will not start.

I have inspected the entire fuel system, get 42psi @the cold start injector. I even flipped the cold start injector around and it sprays as it should

I checked for a skipped tooth on the timing chain and its fine.

Battery had good amp/volts

I get spark at every plug

Compression has been checked and its fine across the cylinders

Can anyone help me before I end up selling this thing

Unplug your vafm and plug it back in.

It is either the VAFM, or tps, but my money is on VAFM.

If you have fuel, spark, and compression, then you must be lacking air. Check the air flow sensor or maybe look for a squirrel in the intake lol.

Lol I wish it was a squirrel ... I haven't checked it at the ecu but ill check it out. The truck is a how and a half from my house but I might be able to go work on it some more tomorow any other suggestions?

check your injector harness,i had a problem in the heavy rain,slush,wet conitions,turned out the harness was getting wet and grounding out the injectors.when it dried out...ran perfect! also pull your pass side kick panel out and see if water is dripping on the ECU.

I know that your saying that you are getting spark and fuel however this doesn't mean the fuel in getting into the chambers.

Try this.

Put some fuel into a pop bottle. Now pull the vacuum hose off either the PVC valve or the other breather hose near the oil cap. Pour fuel into the hose. Not alot but around 1/4 of a cup. Lift the hose to insure the fuel ran into the plenum. Now put hose back on and see if truck starts. If it does start then you have a electrical issue some were. Hopefully this works as it will give you a basic idea of what's going on.

Check the starter it may have a lose connection that is occasionaly causing it not to spin fast enough

Don't crank so long, it'll flood. I'll assume you knew that already but just in case. You can pull the plugs and make sure they're dry.

Monitor the tach for ignition pulses, put the timing light on it to verify it gets to the plugs.

Try the cold start proceedure from the owners manual, this by-passes the IACV, eg pedal to the floor while cranking(IIRC) no pumping.

And finally. I'll give ya 50$ for it.

If you have spark fuel and compression they aren't coming together at the right time. Inspect the ignition system again, cracked distributor rotor will cause issues.

Now it might be a big help if you told us where you are.

Real time help could be close at hand .

I am thinking a wiring or ecu glitch that is not allowing the injectors to fire. which means your cold start injector won`t either .

If this happens when does it happen ?? after engine sits for prolonged periods weeks??

Or could it start run fine all day then have a crank but no start issue at any point in the day..

Is there any pattern is what i am looking for ?? Like does it happen only after several hours or days of hard rain with high winds ?? Only with a engine run several hours at operating temperature??

When it does happen can it just start at random in a few minutes or do you need to walk away for a day while it dries out in the nice sunny day

My family's F150 used to do that. Just give it a good tune up. Cap, rotor, and then consider/inspect plug wires and plugs. We got spark when we checked it too, that doesn't guarantee it's perfect. Since we did that, the truck has started great and run like a top, though it wasn't that much different. It wasn't too long ago, but the problem was a regular one in the v cold weather and now it's fine and has been fine since early January.

The pattern seems to be sitting 12+ hours in rain/high humidity. It always occures between november/march when the rain is prevelant (Washington state

Also i already checked the cold start injector (flipped it around and it sprayed)

It has fixed itself so far sometimes 5-6 days later, sometimes a hour or so later. But its always dry. It happened on a cold winter night back in january, when there was no rain/clear skys.
