Just replaced the entire front end basically and installed a Daystar 2" lift that comes with pro comp shocks in the rear. Now the front looks like i have a 3 or 4 inch lift and the rear looks about right. This is my first time messing with lifts, my buddy helped me out with it. I havnt got an alignment yet, that is going to happen today but my question is basically why is the front way higher than the back?

What was included in the lift? Was it new springs and everything or just spacers? It could be that the springs just need to settle if you got new springs. Get your alignment and then see how it is.

Try taking measurements too. Middle of hub straight up to the fender. Then you'll know how much the front and the back actually are off.

I cant seem to upload pics or link them, im using my phone for all this idk. But after talking with the jack-it suspension guy, he was telling me to make sure the bolt from the bottom strut to lower control arm was loose, then let the weight down on it and then tighten it up so here shortly thats what im gonna do. I guess i made a rookie mistake lol

This is normal if you do not lift the rear when you lift the front. To correct it, buy a pair of rear shackles with 1" to 1 1/2" lift.

Except 1996 4runners don't have rear shackles. I think the daystar kit comes with a lift for the rear also, but he's just got (what appears to be) more lift in the front.

It did lift the back, the kit was a 2" daystar spacer lift kit, front and rear spacers that came with pro comp shocks for the rear. I got it from Jack-it suspension experts. We also put on brand new quick struts that are factory height. I think it was like a leveling kit it had 2.5" spacers for the front and 1.5" for the rear. Also came with a diff drop kit. But like i said I'm gonna lift it back up and loosen the bolt from bottom strut to lower control arm set it back down and tighten it like the guy from jack it said and see if that's all it is.

The front looks about right. What the measurement from the center of the hub to the top of the wheel well on the rear? For example with my OME 2" lift I've got 24" on the rear. Can't tell you what the front is because it's torn apart right now.

You were right about the front, it measured 24". The back measures 20". So the back is my problem and i have no clue.

sure the spacers are back there? maybe your springs are shot.

Oh yeah they're back there. Im kinda coming to the conclusion i need new springs, they're the only thing i haven't replaced in the entire suspension system pretty much. So i gotta go price some new springs, crossing my fingers thats what it is.

you could measure how tall your springs are back there and see if someone else with the same setup can take some measurements as well.

Alright so I had to go get new coil springs ordered waiting on those. From searching around ive found the stock height from center hub to fender is 20". Thats what mine measures on the rear so the 2 inch spacer literally did nothing, maybe change the spring rate i dont know. We shall see if it is just wore out springs.

Thats kinda what im leaning towards. With the front at 24", can i expect it to drop a little and settle? Im just curious because the back might be at 22" after i get new ones and put the spacers on or do you think it will even it out with the front?

If you put new coils in the front, they will settle a little for sure.

The front has new quick struts, along with everything on the front end being brand new parts. So would it be safe to say it will come down around an inch?
