UTP Ultimate performance chip to the Mass Air Flow Sensor

Does any one know how to hook up an UTP Ultimate performance chip to the Mass Air Flow Sensor? The wire colors to connect to. This would be on a 92 4Runner 3.0

If you get the UTP Ultimate performance chip here is how you hook it up to your mass air flow Sensor.

1992 Toyota 4 Runner with the 3.0L V6 engine has the "IAT" sensor integrated into a larger 6-wire "MAF" sensor, which would be located on your air intake tube, right next to your air box (air filter). The two wires that you will need to piggy back our product on to would be Wire #4 and #6 - the Brown with Black Stripe wire and the Yellow with Black Stripe wire.

When you install the Performance Module, please ensure that the metal clip in the Quick Connectors are fully pulled up to allow the wires underneath to freely pass through, and please be certain that you do not unplug the sensor nor remove/unplug ANY wires out of the sensor! Also, please ensure that you disconnect the ground side of your battery for an absolute MINIMUM of a few hours (or preferably overnight) to ensure that any and all old adaptive settings are reset, otherwise the chip may not properly work!

Would you care to elaborate? Seems like a broad-brush stroke without much behind it. I am skeptical myself, but I would like to hear people's first hand knowledge instead of opinions...

the only way to gain power in a 22re or 3.slow is a megasquirt ecu everything else is just wasting money.

These "performance chips" that typically connect to the MAF/IAT sensors usually all work the same way, they trick the ecu into thicking the air is actually colder than it is which in turn makes the computer enrich the mixture. The theory is that more fuel = more power, which is completely false. Unless you're adding the extra air required to go with that fuel then all you are doing is making your vehicle run excessively rich, burn more fuel and probably make less power.

If the "performance chip" connects to the MAF/VAF/IAT it is a complete load of crap.

Well that makes a lot more sence. I see your thinking behind it and why it is a waste of time and money. I would also think your o2 sensor would foul out quicker and the plugs would also foul pretty bad.

Because the EFI is a closed loop system, it will detect the rich condition via the O2 sensor and re-tune itself to adjust for the rich condition. So trying to force a mixture change by tricking the air temp probe isn't going to do much except drain your wallet.

Wouldn't that cause the CEL to turn on? Surely this thing would make it immediately think either sensor is borked. Hmmm, might not be a bad idea to get one, on-demand CEL, oh look, there's a pub! Wait, I don't have a CEL... Welp, there goes -that- idea, thing's worthless.

I bet if the OP took it to bits we'd find a handful of randomly connected discrete components (which would not constitute a "chip") that generate this "continuous signal" the ads claim... I think I can do it with a cap and an inductor, well, it would depend on what they mean by "signal" but this sounds like $3 worth of parts/casing hokum.
