1987 4runner, planning on Long Travel build
Heres my 1987 4runner, I'm planning on giving it a long travel front suspension, the trouble is, finding the right one, I was thinking about Blazeland, but if anyone knows of any other options, I'm open for suggestions. I'm looking for something practical and affordable. Total Chaos is an option, but I'm hoping to get the kit BEFORE christmas, lol.

You might want to shoot a pm to dnfnate, he owns BatchRacing.com and while they don't offer a LT 4x4 kit right yet one is apparently in the works. As for pricing, in my case I'm eventually going to put 2wd LT in and their offering is much more affordable $1k less than the TC equivalent and I doubt I'd find a better deal than that. I don't know how that will figure out for the 4x4 kit's cost but it is something to keep in mind.

I'd rather spend a few hundred and just BL and lift the drive train, get a high clearance cross member and shave off the bump stops... but that's just me...
B/c no matter what lift you choose, you still have that 7.5" diff in the front...
So why spend a grand or two on a few inches of travel again?
B/c traction will get you further...
2 Aussie lockers: @ $520
3" BL: What? @ $100?
Budbuild x member: $200
2"-3" Motor mount lift: $100...
J/Y 4:88's: @ $200
And still bolt a 35" on...

Pretty much. I'm going more for suspension dampening rather than lift. I'm definately planning on a selectable locker eventually, but that'll be next year most likely. I'm only concentrating on modifying the suspension for now. Next on the list is a motor swap, full cage and drivetrain upgrade.
To follow my build in more detail, check out my project in the build-up section. This weekend I'll be doing coil springs in the rear and bolting on a frame truss in the front (hopefully, depends on the weather).

get in touch with dsmahon. hes on here but he has a build up on toyotanation for his soon to be tc long travel 93 toyota 4x4. hes a smart guy and really seems like he did his homework on picking the right kit. tc isnt really in my alley but if i were gonna go for it then id def take his opinion and at least look into it. im sure he could give you the pros and cons to every kit and more info than youd ever want on how each will perform and the differences.
