wheel spacers pro and cons ?
i have a freind selling 4 2" wheel spacers. what are the pros and cons of using them?
will they help make my truck more stable?

PRO: Wider stance offers the opportunity for more stability.
CON: Can DRAMATICALLY increase tire rubbing. Adds load to the wheel bearings, encouraging them (and the steering) to wear out quicker.

thanks for the repleys. i did Search but didnt see much talking about the pros and cons of using them.
i'm not woried about them making the tires rub. i dont think they will. my rear axal is stock and with the rims and tires i have they sit 1.5" or so from the frame and springs. it hasnt been an problom becuse my lift is very stiff and wount flex. but i'm looking at some new springs and think the tire will start rubing the frame. or should i not get the spacers and look for a newer axle that wider?

Spacers increase the chance of rubbing on the body, they help if you're rubbing on the frame... The thing is- body panels rip off from tire rubbage, frame and suspension do not.

whats a SJ lift? ( i just figured it out. i have had them on for a few years now and my truck isnt heavy anuff to make them flex.) theres a toyota with some allpro springs aroound here and he likes them. i will whach him to see if i like them or not.but he also said he has them rearched every few years.
i dont care much about body panels mine is an offroad only truck. it has a flatbed on it so i dont have to worry about it and i can cut on the frount if need be. but from what i can find it sounds like it might be hard on my bearing and axles.

I run 3" billit spacers on my yota all the way around, I'm also on 40's.
Pro's=my tires dont rud my leaf springs, and i can tull full sharper turns
Con's= Added stress on everything
