Custom 3rd gen 4Runner CB antenna mount

I have decided to produce and sell these brackets as I feel there is a deficit of quality, purpose built CB antenna mounts for the 3rd generation 4runners. These brackets mount under the rubber pad for the rear door (requiring minor modification with a sanding drum on a Dremel) and use 2 additional screws to ensure a solid mounting to the body.

I have been using a 4 foot Firestik II antenna for a full year with this mount, without a spring, and never had either the antenna break or the mount fail. Fully welded of 1/8th inch steel and powder coated. This is a purpose built mount that was designed for the vehicle.

I built mine out of total frustration with the generic door jamb mount that was never intended for a vehicle that has a lift up rear door. This mount pushes the antenna away from the door, keeping it away from being hit by the door during normal operation, while keeping it close enough to the vehicle to prevent it being ripped off by trees on the trail.

Each bracket comes with satin black powder coat, all the necessary mounting hardware, detailed instructions, and Firestik antenna hardware. $40 + shipping costs, an amazing deal considering the worthless Firestik mount is sold for 21 dollars and does not work well for our vehicle.

here is the catch, i need at least 5 people to order to get you that price. i will give this 2 weeks to soak and collect interest. thank you for your time!

I might be interested, but I couldn't buy for a while unless the price came down.

just fyi, im investing in myself and making 10 of these, getting them PC'd and the kits ready to go. so far i have about 4 or 5 people that say they will buy them, and it has been my experience that half of those people will not. however, if i have something to ship out right away, maybe i will sell more.

also, i have revised my design:

i will start tonight on getting that tacked together and test fitted.

Put me down for one. I'd like to see the revised one as well, though.

Can you take a picture along the side of your truck so we can see how far it sticks out. Also, does it interfere with the taillight at all?

I'm interested. Does it rub on the rear hatch at all?

How hard would it be to make one for the right side? Just wondeirng.

Also, does the fire stick hardware come with the cable for going from CB to antenna?

sean,

Can you post a pic of what the bracket will look like for a steel ball/stainless 102" whip type cb antenna?

I already have the coax, antenna, and ball mount (uses the 3 hole mount flange setup Radio Shack type).

Thanks,
Doug

Hey nice idea.... I always hated the firestick mount since i couldn't get back into the hatch w/o moving it aside.

how much would it be for just the bracket itself? i also already have the cable and the antenna, just need someplace to mount it too.

if i could get one of just the bracket then you can count me in for one as well

sorry i didnt get an email for these replies.

yes, i can make a right side mount. my only concern is how you will get the antenna wire into the cab. on the left side you can run it through the pressure relief vent. you would have to find your own way to run the cable.

the firestick hardware does not include cable, you would have purchase that separately (i will recommend a cable, it will need to have the correct connectors on both ends) along with a 4 foot fiberglass antenna

im not familar with the 102" whip with ball mount. most offroad clubs prohibit their use because of the chance of it hitting bystanders. i will look into what i can do for you with a mount, but it would likely cost a bit more than this one as it would be a one off mount.

a powdercoated bracket with no hardware other than the necessary mounting screws would be aprox. 32 dollars. i would have to look at what my unit cost is for the antenna connector.

i hope that answers everyone's questions. ive had some other things take priority over this bracket, but i hope to get them sent out wed. or thurs. this week. thanks for your interest, and once i get one done ill post up pictures, you can PM me to place an order and i will send you the necessary transaction details.

I would be interested in one, but I don't need all the firestik hardware.

I already have a firestik and would only need the mounting bracket.

ok so, as usual. it never rains but it pours. super behind on everything.

if you are interested, please PM me what you would like: whole package, bracket only with PC, bracket with bare metal, etc. id like to see how many i should actually send to the PC since its better for me to send 20 at once than 5 batches of 4.

thanks for your patience. also have some other products i might be releasing in the coming months. by then i hope to have a website up with all the details and ordering information.
