Installing Celica Seats into 3rd gen 4runner
I wasn't sure where to post this thread so I'll just put it here. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I would go about mounting some 2001 Celica seats into my 4Runner. This is just part of my changing interior to black project but I wanted to make a separate post so I'd get responses to just the particular subject matter. I have a few ideas that were pitched to me earlier like welding the seat directly to the car...this wouldn't be adjustable. Then there was another idea that came to mind which was to weld the Celica seats to the 4runner bottoms. Third option I guess would be to weld the entire Celica seat with their lower mechanism to the car but I'm not sure if this would entirely work. Any help would be appreciated...

You've probably yanked the 4runner seats out by now and seen that they're held on by 4 bolts to the frame.
I'd think that, assuming the celica seats are not power, I'd see about adapting the 4runner slide rails to the celica seats.
Maybe you're really lucky and the celica's brackets (the 4 point anchor) are in roughly the same pattern as the 4runner's.
I love my seats, but the lumbar is in exactly the wrong place for me... too high up. But then again I'm 6'4" and most of that is leg. God I wish the wheel telescoped.

Drill holes thu the floor pan -- then use washers stacked to make the bracket fit the floor pan. Use heavy grade bolts and nuts. Southern enginrering I know but it works> This is of course using the Celica mechanism
