4cyl experts - need your help with oil leak!!!

I have a 98 2wd taco that sprung a massive oil leak. I have pics that I will post later when I get home but I am hoping someone can help me before that. It is pretty obvious that its coming from the front right side of block. Forward of the oil filter and seemingly above the oil pan. Its well below the head though. What is there that could leak? There looks to be a sensor plugged into the block up there. I have to wait for it to cool before I can look so I am kinda asking this question blindly but anyone that can offer any suggestions would be great. Keep in mind that its one hell of a leak. When the truck is running it is basically a steady stream that coats the steering, exhaust, xmember, etc.

Thanks alot guys

Andy

is the oil being slung on the hood?

If so I would say it is a front seal.

i think that might be your oil pressure sensor down of the oil filter and your knock sensor will be jus forward and up of oil filter

That is a common high volume leak on vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Check that oil pressure sensor / sending unit - should be pretty cheap to replace.
