Wobbling feeling when braking
I have noticed what feels like a wobbling sensation when the brakes are pressed at lower speeds. The best way I can describe it is it feels like one of my wheels isn't quite true and "wobbles". I know this isn't the case, however, because it only feels like it when I brake. Anyone else experience this? I suppose it has to do with the brakes but I would like to know how serious or minor this may be. Any thoughts?

warped rotors. get em machined & new set of pads at least. IMO i'd just replace the rotors n pads with brembo blanks & oem or akebono ACT pads.
nothing serious (unless you've got no brake pad left), just annoying. its an easy fix...

Don't machine them, they'll warp again faster than icecream in a microwave. Buy new rotors and pads and replace or just live with it. Some brands of rotors also hold up better than others. Brembo have always done very well as replacements and I've heard NAPA brand also seem to do ok too.

Thanks for the replies. What causes a rotor to warp in the first place? I think I'll wait until my pads wear down as ARB1977 mentioned if its not serious or dangerous to do so. I bought this 4runner from m dad and he babied it, I wonder how they got warped. About how much will new rotors cost and are they just for the rear?
Thx again

they are just for the front, heat, excessive braking or towing warps them, even changing drivers could really make the rotors warp (metallurgically speaking), with the 4runner its just time seems to be a common problem

OK, so rotors just for the front. Actually it looks as if the brembo rotors won't cost as much as I thought they would. Thanks everybody! I'm taking the runner in for a service this week so I'll ask them to check the torque on the lugs as well.
