No reverse lights.....fuse? switch?
I checked both bulbs and they are fine. My truck is an automatic by the way and my reverse lights don't work. I don't have the owners manual so I have no clue if a fuse can be the culprit or even where if there is a fuse for the reverse switch.......help??

Reverse Switch
I had the same problem on my '86 4Runner. It ended up being the Neutral Start Switch, which does not allow the truck to be started in any gear other than park. I could start my truck in any gear, and before I went to get it inspected I tried all of the lights. It was then that I learned my reverse lights didn't operate, so i checked the fuse, the bulbs, and then got on here and learned about the Neutral Start Switch. I paid $260.24 including tax for the thing
If you find out it is the Neutral Start Switch talk with Tacozilla who can get you a discount on the part because Advanced Auto & the other parts places couldn't get it.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure this would be for a Manual trans truck, mine is an automatic. I know there is a neutral switch that would only allow the truck to be started in park/neutral, but the truck starts and is fine........no reverse lights.

yes the power to the light are supplied by the nuetral saftey switch toyota switches are also adjustable. you have to loosed the bolt and you can tilt it up and down...follow your linkage to the transmission and you will see it...lots of wires going to it
