22RE weight?

Hi all:

Does anyone know how much a 22RE engine weighs (engine not including tranny)? This is in a '94 P/U.

TIA

I was wondering the same thing, but without the cylinder head (just the block weight).

I guess after you get all the top end off, there really isn't much left!! I would have thought it weighed more than that. Thanks for the info.

FWIW, I pulled my engine and weighed it using an 8000# balance. It's pretty accurate but precision isn't that great (50# increments on the scale).

Engine/Tranny together were about 435# and the tranny weighed 95# or so (bathroom scale!) so that puts the engine ~ 340#. That's w/o fluids but pretty much everything else on it. This is probably within 25# or so.

lol, wow I was wayyy off! sorry for any misinformation! Guess I'm stronger than I thought. Or maybe just a real bad judge of weight.

That sounds about right. I recall some sites quoting 400# for shipping weight.

I was thinking around 300 LB. I bought one a while back as a donor motor and two of us were able to put in the back of my truck.
