Has anyone ever experienced an axle that is offcenter (as in on one side the tire sticks out of the fender and on the other it is inset a little bit)? Is this a problem? Could be caused by the dinky trac bar/sway arm thing on these trucks? I didn't adjust that when the lift was put on.

(Note: this '93 ext. cab has a home-garage-installed 2 in suspension lift. front= BJ Spacer + torqued torsion bars Rear= add-a-leaf + 1.5" shackles.)

Mine does the same with Cruiser coils. I am going to add an adjustable panhard bar to fix it.

You have leaves in the back....I am not sure on yours.

a panhard bar . . . . that's the trac bar looking thing? No i don't have any drop bracket nor have adjusted it. It looks like I could adjust it (the nut/bolt on the axle end) or is a 2 in lift outside of the range?

Interesting that yours does it even with coils, I would've thought all the trac bars and control arms would keep it inline.

It does until you lift it..then it pulls the axle to the passenger side.

That's not a trac rod. It's the linkage for the load sensing proportioning valve for your brakes. If you did not adjust it relative to your lift then it is likely that your rear brakes are hardly working at all.

Look at your leaf springs and mounting perches on the axle, is it all centered up? does it align with the frame? Is your bed centered on the frame?

My Truck was in an accident before I owned it and the right side of the bed has been replaced, resulting in a condition similar but not as bad as yours.

x2 look to make sure everything is lined up right. no springs are off center. something being off-center can make it look like you are driving down the road sideways. have someone follow you and tell you if your truck is looks funny. a long time ago my dads 86 runner leafs were off center and he his truck was driving sideways down the road.

ahh. I've looked at it more closely now and it IS connected to the brake lines at a junction on the frame. I hadn't considered that the brake pressure would be different under different loads, but it makes perfect sense.

I will adjust the nut/bolt as much as possible/safe and consider fabbing up a bracket to accomodate the lift if it's still a problem.

Also will re-check spring alignment a little more precisely.
