Help Please: I need some help im in the middle of installing my rebuilt cyl head and an EB 261 cam, and cam chain with steel guides.
While I was cleaning the old head gasket off of the block, some of smaller pieces of the old gasket fell into the water passages.
I dont know if this will cause any damage or not, I used a shop vac to "hopefully" suck out the majority of the junk over the water ports I hope this took care of it, but then there is that small percentage of doubt that may not have been sucked out and that making me loose sleep, is there a more efficient way to clean out the oil and water passages???
Also ive read many articles about tapping the old bolt holes to clean up the threads before installing new head bolts, but I also ran across an article that stated a tap should not be used to clean out the old bolt holes as it will loosen up the threads and cause torque problems,,,,now im confused as hell, on whether to tap or not to tap????

    Need some help here guys:
My 92 22re has a problem it surges when under mild acceleration, the truck seems to pulse or surge slightly, and seems to loose power when peddle is pushed to floor????
Ive replaced TPS (adusted to 4crawlers specs.), complete tune up, checked vac lines, sea foam combustion chamber and gas tank, cleaned TB, cleaned O2 sensor (ohms out ok). Still same problem also idle will not stay at 900rpm where i like it, the iacv was removed and thoroughly cleaned and is working fine, and idle screw o-ring was replaced.
Cheap coolant from PO was flushed and toyota red was put in with new t-stat.
Just did an easy test of the egr valve by removing the vac line on the top of the valve and connecting directly to plenum for vacuum as per FSM, the engine stumbled and died so I believe according to the FSM that the EGR system is working OK.
Any suggestions would sure be helpful, this is making me nuts.
