Its not run by air. Its a lunch-box locker. It has springs inside. And once you hit the gas the the big metal plates slide and lock the differential. Then when your not on the gas the springs push back on the plates unlocking it. Its a pretty good design, considering I got mine for less than $300. But anyway, I will be getting a 4wd too. I just needed a locker for getting out of gravel boat ramps, have you seen what 195/75/r14's can do? <- Basically nothing. And think about a steep boat ramp with one small tire in the back of a light bed! Thats why I needed a locker.

I like it a lot...it is a great locker. It is easy to install. Not sure if you can install it in that year of your truck though. Basically every time you give my truck some throttle the locker locks and unlocks when you let off the gas. It also unlocks and clicks when you turn.
