Hi, was wondering what you ended up doing on your engine? I also purchased a 94 runner that has a bad rod bearing and trying to decide whether to have it rebuilt or just buy a good used motor. The "toy connection" in Santa Clara, ca has good used motors with 90-day warranties for $1,000 or they will rebuild your motor or sell you a rebuilt motor for $1,850 (no core charge). I realize the difference in price is not much but I hear stories of people having issues with rebuilt motors do to lack of quality work and/or parts. So, I just wonder (for the price) if taking a chance on a stock motor is better considering the price. Sorry for the long message and would like to hear what you ended up doing? Thanks, RJ
