cb style radio antenna...do-able?

so if my current radio (yeah, like the music kind of radio) antenna sucks equine testes, and i wanna get a new one, but i think i can get better reception doing a custom-ish fiberglass rod wire-wrapped CB style one.... could this be easily doable? i'm asking this question here cause there seem to be a lot of knowledgable folks, but truthfully, i'm asking for my other vehicle, not my toyota truck. thanks, guys

firestik sells an adapther that uses your cb antenna as an am/fm radio antenna also.

You can use a regular cb antenna. Then get a cable that's got the proper end for your radio.

i would look around more cause i know you can damage a cb if you don't use a proper antenna. something about the frequencies have to be compatible i think.

He wants to use a CB antenna with his AM/FM radio. Not a AM/FM antenna with a CB radio.

The CB antenna will work great for your AM stations and, in fact, is used by many truckers for that very reason to pull in the weak stations. On FM it will be adequate when you are near the transmitter, but not nearly as good as if you have a antenna tuned for the FM band.

Maybe it's time to start thinking XM.
