Not that I was going to put a winch in there but if I make it wide enough for one it has to be over 24" wide in the center, my drawing is only 18" and any bigger didn't look right to me. The plate under the lights will probably be some thicker aluminum bolted w/nice hardware to some tabs underneath and the end caps will be thick steel.

I like simple yet custom looking so this design just looks real nice and clean yet custom and tough. Im preparing all kinds of mods for my truck as soon as spring rolls up and i get a house with a garage.
I'm going to try and get it cut up and mocked up this weekend and i'll have a better idea of how the bracing will look in place... i'll take pics. I want to keep this thing tucked in tight/almost flush w/the fenders too so it might require a little trimming of the fender but it looks like it's just the tabs that attach to the bumper that'll be coming off anyway.

Yea, I learned it in HS too then didn't use it for 15 years and then still never drew 3D... this was my first try at something more than a cone, box or ball.

I'm still not sure if I want to mount signals into it or convert the corner markers to turn signals... i'm leaning towards converting the corners though.

If I like how it turns out I might have to make one for my #3 4Runner loosley based on this one but maybe in a single tube version or something.

You did a great job picking it up and making it work.
I learned board drafting in HS, then Acad in my career.

Well, I decided it was time to start this project now that the new motor is in and finally running right.

After I blasted the rear braces off w/the plasma cutter, I suckered my brother into doing the grinding for me.

Look out I got this...

Getting ready to split it in the middle and cut the sides off

Darkness and cocktails prevented any further progress and pics from getting taken but i'll update as it happens.

I didn't like the OEM turns mounted to the bumper either.. threw on some generic LED marker lights as turns to get by untill i find something I like better.

I'm diggin that bumper, that's close to what i want but no turn signals in it and maybe a smaller dia. hoop. I might have to do something for now too. I just got a new job though and there's a huge learning curve so things are on hold for a few weeks until I get it down. I've been unemployed since Thanksgiving and my Toyota fun tickets are running out so it's nice to be back to work.
