fabbed a custom bumper/receiver/recovery point

had the bed off to finish welding the seam from my bob, so i decided to built a bumper/hitch from a length of 2 1/2 .250 wall square tube inserted between the frame rails that was left from the bob.

for some reason the receiver looks cocked over but i assure you this is an illusion

some grinder love here and there

hitch pin hole is pilot drilled until i can get my hands on a SHARP 5/8 bit. blurry shot

hey guys got the bed back on after trimming the roll pan to fit my new bumper

that took the longest cause i had to keep pulling the bed off and putting it back on to check for clearance ..

i had to slap the lights and tailgate on cause the bell rang. so dont mind that they are not lined up the best.

overall im happy with it

thanks for the compliments guys..

lil update.

built a yanker out of some 2x2 .250 wall tube and a 2 ton rated 8" teardrop shackle my welding teacher had laying around. plugged the end with some 1/4 inch plate and the outside retainer part is 1/2 inch plate with atleast 3 passes on each weld

its basically gonna be used to strap out my buddies from the local mud spots

this is what i ended up with

dude, that is a freakin sweet bumper...much simpler and more functional than all the heavy-duty bumpers i've seen on here with the tubes everywhere and whatnot

also, would you mind putting up a side-shot? i'd like to see what your rig looks like with such a long bob an the low-profile bumper (trying to get ideas for mine)
