Cool,
I'll plan on doing some work on it next week after work! Lets leave it as one sheet until we decide how we want to make the final cut.

Jeff,
I'll definately give you a call if I head down to Tucson!

Tim

Haven't heard anything from Bud.

SOAZ and I are gonna give the UHMW polyethylene a shot. Maybe reinforce it some expanded metal. We should have it in place by the Sunflower run. I may even have new tires by then as well.

So i picked up the UHMW today in 3/8" thickness. It's probably gonna need some backing or some stringers. Probably gonna go the expanded metal route since it's free.

Gotta tell ya', tell stuff is slicker than greased owl s**t. I'd recommend those who already have budbuilts look into getting some of this stuff, just a little thinner.

If anyone is interested in getting the full Bud Built skid package. I'm selling mine. No problems with them. Just going a different route with the 4wheelin truck.

SOLD. Thanks.

With the 4runner, yes. As Steve said, I'm moving on to a different truck for a 4wheelin vehicle.

I'll have a good deal of 3rd gen 4runner wheelin stuff for sale in the next month or two if any of you are looking to build up. Front and rear bumpers, body lift, suspension lift parts, front diff with 4.88's and an ARB, and maybe some 315's. I'll post them up here in the AZ thread first since I don't want to deal with shipping if I don't have to.

How did the skid plate build go? I don't remember seeing you at the sunflower run to test it out and no updates yet.

Just order a bud built front skid!

Wormhole,
I'm not sure if you're question is directed to me or not. But here's the scoop anyway. I haven't had too much free since getting the UHMW. I have cut it to 24" wide by 10' long. I picked up a piece of scrap 2x2 HREW sqare tubing for mounting. I just got a drill press and put the holes through it so it can mount where the front of the stock skid goes (in front of the radiator). This will not only eliminate the awkward "S" bend that would be necessary without it, but it also adds extra protect up front, especially for the stock tranny cooler. I'm hoping to finish it up this weekend. Once I get it mounted I'll borrow a floor jack and test it on that first. If it works, I'll post some picks.

Just a quick note UHMW becomes very brittle if exposed to U.V. Light ( sunlight) for any amount of time and You can get it at Most Commercial sheet-metal fab Shops that do food processing work. I worked for a shop In Moses Lake Wa. that had a ton of UHMW is various sizes left over from Big jobs.
