Transfer case identification
Is there a code like with the differential gear ratio to determine what transfer case you have? I've searched and haven't found much. Or did all A340H automatic transmissions come with a RF1A gear driven t-case?

or is it the A340H that cannot be seperated from the transfer case?
I guess what I really want to know is, is my transfercase gear or chain driven?

All automatics and V6 Transfer cases are Chain driven. The only gear drives were availiable in 4cyl transmissions. Marlin makes an adapter to mate 4Cyl cases to V6 trans'. There were 3 4cyl cases avail too: Carb (shifter on trans) EFI (shifter on Case) and Turbo (shifter on trans w/ 23 spline input shaft)
