FEELING STUPID!!!!! i have seen NUMEROUS pictures and even articles on people that stacked 2 coilovers on top of eachother.. I have been searching for days and cannot find any information on how they are connecting the two together.. hopefully you understand what im saying but if not think of it like this instead of one 14" 150# coilover per corner i want to put a 14" and a 12" together to make it basically one 26"... What i am wondering is what hardware is needed to connect them and where i can get it.. and if someone has access to a rig setup like i am talking about i would love a good close up picture of the connecting point.

Are you talking about when they have 2 springs on 1 long coilover? I have never seen 2 connected

they run the same set up on trophy trucks, but idk if it's two. I'm pretty sure it's one long one like big crab said

please share. I've never seen or heard of anyone using 2 separate, complete coilovers on top of each other.


I know it's somewhat common to use 2 springs on the same shock with coilovers, but that's easy....just use the same diameter spring and stack 'em up.

They're called dual rate coilovers and whoever said it woudnt work is an idiot.

Dual rate coils should only be used in shocks that cycle over 8" travel, and over 24" extended length, other wise its a waste of $$

To everyone yes after futher reading it is one long shock and two springs I feel even more retarded then when I first asked! Thanks evryone for your input! Thinking this is the route ill be going with my front suspension on the full length axle swap!

Awesome. They should ride really well and give great flex once you get the shock valving and the spring rates down. You'll probably have to go through the inner fender wells and into the engine bay for the coilover tower but that shouldn't be an issue.

Im pretty sure I can between lift and shock length be able to mount them right where the original shock mounted

What style link set-up are you going to use?

Not sure yet problem is im swapping motors and trannys and transfercases also so where all that sits is going to play a big part in which setup I use id like to do a 4 link but not sure yet
