Budbuilt or Skid Row plates for a 2002 4Runner
#41
I had the BudBuilt and belly plate on my 02 4Runner. I installed a Fumoto oil drain valve. It made draining the oil easier but the filter was still a little bit of a pain. Use a piece of carboard to funnel it out the side and you don't have to drop the plate. Not perfect and it takes a hiwl to drain through the valve, but for me, it was easier than dropping the pan.
Sweet, thanks man for posting. I did not even think of doing something like that. How good did it seal? Did it leak?
I e-mailed Bud to see if they can make a custom plate that can be removed to do oil changes. This valve might be a cheaper and easier fix.

Sealed great, never leaked. It was VERY slow to drain when the oil was cold. After getting the valve I just changed the oil when the truck was still warm. Normally that is terrible, since you burn yourself when it inevitably get on your skin, but with the valve you just flip the lever and walk away. There is no chance of a spill.
