1969 fj40

Hello! Have a few questions about my new to me 69 FJ40. I'm a lifelong Yota addict, have a 95 T100 lifted 5" with various goodies, an 82 P/U 6" lift, front/rear lockers, 5:29's, other things and my 69 FJ40. Always wanted an FJ, now have one!

This FJ is clean, with rear locker, 3 on the tree, 3" sprung under, 33" tires. Stock F engine other than a Weber carb and elec fuel pump.

Questions...

1: Is a 4-7 psi elec fuel pump adequate?

2: The stock throttle cable exists, and the angle of the cable to throttle valve linkage is terrible. Is there a kit for a cable and bracketry to cure this?

3: Is there a better clutch master to upgrade to? It's damn near non-existent locally... Well it is non-existent.

4: There is a pull knob on the far left of the dash, attached to a valve body on the left fender, inside the engine bay. There are no hoses attached. What is this?

5: Thank you!

1: Yes. Carbs don't need much pressure.

2: The cure is to ditch the webber and put a stock Asin carb back on it.

3: I recall the one for my 77 being pretty cheap, might be worth a try.

4: pics?

5: welcome!

Really? Is the single barrel Aisin that came stock good? Or can I fit a 2F two barrel? It's a better carb than the Weber?

Thanks for the welcome!

Looks good!

I thought all the Aisins were 2 barrel but you could put a later F manifold on if the carb won't fit yours. I have just heard nothing good about webers. They don't run well off camber and they are not jetted properly.

Any pics of the pull cable you were talking about in your question #4?
