I'd pass on the tundra brakes... friend of mine did it on his 4Runner and he could hardly tell a difference between the larger v6 and the tundra's. Other than the fact you now have to run 16" rims

just a heads up, the "manual hub swap" isnt so easy on tacomas/3rd gen runners... it involves swapping out basically the whole nuckle assemble including full hubs and rotors...
also, do some research on the tundra swap... if you get the larger calipers they wont fit on a 16" wheel without some major grinding to the body... they are made for 17s...
if you want to get rid of your flares, lemme know... ive been on the hunt for a set for a while...

On the hubs, i assume that i will have to get a set of knuckle assys from a Taco with the manual hubs?
Now on the Tundra brake swap, I was under the impression you only needed 16's to clear the brakes... Seems like i'm getting conflicting info everywhere I look...
Not planning on getting rid of the flares, they're neat. But if something happens that i am going to toss em, ill give you first dibs lol.

well, from what i can gather there are the smaller tundras (193's i think) and those clear 16s... the larger (205's??) will require the larger rims...
basically you will need to swap out the entire hub assembly... also dont know if you need to swap out the front Dif because itll have the ADD actuator... do some research on TTORA... as much as i love YT, theres not much hard info on tacos over here...
and, please do keep me in mind on the flares... ive been dreaming about them for a year now...

I wouldn't keep my hopes up for the flares though...

I've got 16's and the big 231mm tundra calipers. Mine rub just a tiny bit. Eventually I'll grind a little off the calipers if I keep these wheels. Right now I've got a 1/4" wheel spacer and that gives me enough clearance. There is a thread somewhere on here titled something like "what wheels fit the tundra brakes".
With the manual hubs you can leave the front diff with the add. That way when you have the hubs locked the 4wd systems works the same way it does now. You could swap it if you wanted to but it's not necessary. It is a lot of work though and you have to get all the parts from a manual hub taco.

Looks like we'll find out Saturday.
That seems like a lot of extra work just to fit slightly bigger brakes. I'd rather not have the Taco down for a few extra weeks because my wheels don't fit.
As i stated earlier, I'm not planning on running out and rushing to get the manual hub swap done ASAP. Just something to consider in the future. It's gonna be one of those things where I slowly gather parts.
Thanks for all the tips/advice!

I'm not jumping to conclusions, but IF you install a supercharger, would you have to tune the ECU? I would think you couldn't just force way more oxygen into an EFI engine without weird things happening.
