Sheepdog's 1996 Tacoma Build-up Thread
Missed the guidelines for the title so I figured I'd just start over.
Here's the truck as I bought it, 98K at the time (2010)
After leveling the rear out and adding longer shackles (net of about an inch lift) Also put on adjustable procomp CO's
Here's where I'd like it to sit in about a month. Alcan leaves on order, going for about 2 inches of lift plus a little from the longer Toytec shackles already on her.
Trail gear sliders
Sliders all mounted
Focal Speaker install. Forgot to take pics but the amps for the speaks and the subs are tucked under the front seats.
Spacers to move the speakers out slightly (deeper than factory ones)
Finished thing. Looks factory other than the tweeters in the door panel
Alpine Stereo and CB install
New CB antenna mount. Redesigned it a bit so it could be taken off without taking the tail light out. I keep stripping the chinsy screws in the tail light everytime I mess with it, change a bulb, etc.
Bumper Mounts in progress
Been doing quite a bit the last month so I'll post here in a bit with updates

Stripped the topper and bed off
Welded reinforcement plates to sturdy up the frame at the notorious bend.
rattle can bed liner on center of bed, herculiner in fenders to help eliminate future rust issues
Remounted lower shock mounts in preparation for U-bolt flip. Little ghetto but it'll hold (obviously the picture is pre-weld.)
Re-do crossmember/ spare carrier in prep for new crossmember (for upper shock mounts)
Clocked spare for better descent angle (at least in my head)
Start of new spare mounting
What happens when angle grinders hit bone
Little further on bumper (rest will have to wait until winter break when I have a welder again)
Beginning of Tranny pull project (Throwout/ Release bearing going bad, putting in new clutch/ pressure plate/ pilot bearing and having fly wheel honed while I'm at it. I'm not pulling that sucker again in 20K

Celebration picture when the clutch project was finally finished. Ended up having to order three separate clutches to finally get the right one. NEVER BUY FROM GRIPFORCE CLUTCHES. The offer they finally made me was to give me 60% of my $ back if I paid for return shipping when they were the ones who sent me the wrong *&%! clutch kit. Anyway, there may have been beer involved in the after party when she was finally going. Doing it in a parking lot didn't help anything.
Just tacked in place in this picture but gives you an idea the mounting angle and such.
Busted Coilover. Stuck and monkey wrench and about a four foot pipe on that ring to lift the front and busted the eyelet clean off.
Little help from Big Pete in Laramie and we were back in business
Painted axle. Still only running one shock at the moment.
