Schadans 1996 4runner Build-Up Thread

Bought this 1996 4runner Limited from some guy on Craigslist for 2000, it had a burnt exhaust valve and couldn't pass smog.
How it looked the day i bought it.

Proceeded to go drive up a muddy mountain in it to see how well it ran with the burnt exhaust valve and a non firing cylinder, ran pretty well for it being messed up, also popped a tire so was running on my full size spare.

You can see which cylinder was misfiring in this photo from when i was having the valve job done and the head re-machined.

After it was all fixed up it was new tire time.

I received some toyo open country at's for free so i put them on and it was a size bigger so my car got a little lifted look to it

After that i removed my running boards so it was less girly looking(friends and boss were making fun of me for having them on).

Put new coils in the rear, and a 2" spacer in the front, now it sits hire and looks nice.

bought a magnaflow to put on, currently deciding on putting it on or not.

And that's about all that has been done to it right now, more stuff and details later, but here is a photo of my runner chilling next to my dad's 2000 limited

I have not done much to my truck in awhile, replaced a fualty cv axle a month or two ago, they were brand new and less then a month and a half old before this cv boot tore.

But as of a week ago i needed actual new tires for my truck, and could not afford some BFG's so i bought some new Hankook Dynapros 265/75/16's for pretty cheap, and it rained pretty good for two days so i drove down a random dirt road that turned into some thick mud and had to go into 4wd through out it but the truck powered through all of it just fine. Left it only a little bit dirty.
