Hi guys im kinda of new at making a build thread anyways i have a 96 taco atm i didnt take picks when i was puting lift on so i got before after picks and now. right now i had got a 3" skyjacker lift kit and i re did all my struts and shocks to on the same way when doing my lift kit. here them pictures

i got new coils for it right now so it leans way to much so im replacing them today or this weekend

ok guys i got a few question? out there i want to do a sas kit but i know this is dumb. what am im going to need for it beside the kit. i want to get every thing frist before i start taking my front in apart. if you know what i mean. i know im going 35s for tires and such need help on gearing. got a 3.4motor in it and such. let me know so i can get the all the parts. i need help on this. and also what a best kit do go with...

4.88s for gears... honestly, consider that its gonna cost you about 6-8K for an SAS on a taco...

check out Scuba's build thread... hes running 35's with minimal lift... way cheaper AND you retain stock handling... (mostly)

if your set on it, check out trail gear... id get one of their front axles and go from there... figure out what front springs you wanna use, guy and install front and rear frame gusset kit, swap in an IFS steering box...

its a LOT of work...

well for right now im looking around trying for new i deals on what i sould do and i check out scuba too i might keep my IFS but im not sure ones i do cuting i can never go back that why time trying to see what i should do..

you dont HAVE to run 35's... he chooses to... and he also chose to cut his fenders instead of doing a body lift, etc.

everyone has their own way they want to build their rig, and no ones way is better than anyone elses... but heres a bit of advice to get you started... wheel it stock, wheel it slightly modified, wheel it locked... decide if you NEED an SAS and 35's...

my truck isnt everyones flavor because of the things that ive done to it, but it gets the job done and handles the wheeling i choose to do... but my philosophy is that i dont need lift... im gonna armour the hell outta it... bumpers, sliders, skids, dif. armour etc. then im gonna lock it... if anything stops me from then on, ill lift it... but if i dont need the strain on the motor and paying to regear and loss of MPGs, im not gonna do it...

i see what you mean i did lift it a lil so i can clear some stuff that i know i wouldnt clear. and yes i do have more picture of it i just need to get the SD card from my sister she took my Cam. and i was also just going to do bumper and sliders skids like that too if i end up not doing anything esle to it. i think i like it the way it is for now

First. Slow down. Try and use some better punctuation and grammar. Posts like these are painful to read.

Second. What type of wheeling do you do that makes you think you need a solid axle?

Third. Keep in mind that typical Taco sases are 4-8K.
There are many links scattered across the internet to build threads, parts lists needed for taco sases, as well as experienced knowledge and posts from those who have pioneered the swap for the masses. Read and search.

Fourth. There aren't any complete sas kits for Tacomas. Sky manufacturing has a hanger kit and such. Being able to make/ fab your parts will save you a ton of money. Do you know how to weld? Have a 220V welder? Read and search.

Fifth. Which axle are you planning on going with? Trail gear front axles are retarded IMHO. Knuckle balls are welded on already, can't set your front camber by rotating the knuckles. Not to mention, it isn't even tacoma width (61"). Look into a Diamond axle. You'll be much happier in the long run. If you don't want to go with a custom axle then you'll need a Grand Waggy axle. They are 6 lug and same width as a Tacoma rear. Get one without vaccuum disconnect. Read and search.

Sixth. Read and search.

I think no one mentions that kit because A its pricey, B you must use their diamond toyota/ 60 hybrid, and even still you'll probably end up fabbing or beefing up parts that come with it.
