I used to have a jeep. I have had a toyota for a whole 3 weeks. I know it is comparing apples to oranges, and I am learning. I bought a Toyota for its reputation as solid, dependable, and very capable out of the box. I am in now way bashing the Toyota community, just learning. Thanks for the help guys. (by the way, all my rubber lines on the Jeep were switched to SS) Rubber is bad too.

I assume folks are joking but I don't want people to think I hate my new 4Runner and I am just bashing for the fun of it. I just wanted to vent I guess. I love my 4Runner as does my wife (she has had 4 Jeep Cherokees before this, and she won't go back to them now) I have wanted a Toyota for years, Well I was hoping for a pick-up but this is better for the family.

to kinda revive the thread/ hijack it, I was wondering if your problem ever got solved. A Little while ago I was trying to replace my stock smaller rotors with the larger ones from a 16" wheel. While I was trying to unhook the caliper from the line I stripped the banjo? bolt where the hard line meets the caliper and haven't been able to replace the brakes because of it.
A side question though, If i were to buy stainless steel lines... would that replace the rubber hose before this hard line or could I replace that stripped bolt with the new ones.
Thank you ahead of time.

Took my '02 Runner to a Toyota specialist for an oil change and came out with a busted hard front brake line they will not admit to breaking. Interesting that I had not brake issues or fluid leakage until they did their "inspection" and now my baby is just sitting there. I digress. We bought a new line and we plan on installing it ourselves. My question is, how labor intensive is this? We have all the tools just want to make sure we are going to be able to handle it on our own. I appreciate your help!
