Decided to keep the truck after all. Found a 3.4L w/ only 97K miles on it from a '98 4Runner that as rolled. Picked up the block from down near Richmond last weekend, and had my mecahnic drop it in. Picked up the rig last night, and it runs strong.

My mechanic is of the opinion I had a clogged injector that leaned-out the #1 cyl, thus overheating it. That meshes with what my scanner said.

So... I have an engine avaialable either as a rebuild, or that I can part out. I'll put this in the classifieds section as well.

GOOD PARTS:
-intake manifold
-exhaust manifolds
-5 coil-packs
-5 injectors (one replaced only 10 months/15k miles ago)
-5 sets of valves
-valve covers
-cams
-crank
-connecting rods
-flywheel
-head (driver side known good, passenger side unknown)

PARTS POSSIBLY NEEDING REBUILD
-block (#1 cyl possibly needs honing)
-passenger side head (#1 cyl valves got hot?, no evidence of warping)

Let me know if you are intrested in the whol block or any parts. Currently located near Winchester VA.

Thanks.

-Steve
