throttle body sensor #89452-35030
2004 taco v6 4x4 stick
anyone have issue with throttle body sensor #89452-35030 availability
dealer says it is a bad part number - and must buy entire body $$
anyone use alternate sensor 89452-35020 which seems to be a valid part?
one problem is the sensor off taco is 4 prong while alternate sensor is 3 prong

I find it incredulous that toyota will not sell sensor separate but instead have to buy entire throttle body!
What possible reason would toyota engineers have to not sell throttle body separately?

Be nice to know where you live?
Feel free to mention what dealer you are dealing with.
You do mean the Throttle position Sensor or as Toyota calls it Sensor, Throttle
If you want PM me the VIN I will check for you on Monday
I have not seen a 2004 in person can you remove it from the throttle body
The one I have here is a # 894452-35020 it has a 3 pin plug it came off my 2000 Tacoma
I will help if I can
Toyota has done some dumb things you very well may be correct.

it seems the only avail. sensor alternate is a 3 prong where mine is a 4 prong so I am now looking for a used throttle body.

I know that this is an old thread, but I managed to get 5 brand new 4-prong OEM Toyota throttle position sensors (part # 89452-35030). I was having the hesitation problem too and I read that some people were fixing the problem by replacing the TPS. After a lot of research, I found a parts store overseas that sells just the TPS alone. But, the minimum order was 5 parts. It was still cheaper than an entirely new throttle body so I bought them. I am putting one of the sensors in my own truck and since I do not need the others, I am selling them on E-bay. Just thought I would let you all know in case any of you are still looking for a 4 prong throttle position sensor.
