well, no e-locker, and its not a 99, but at least I got the 5 speed part...

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ctd/1358355397.html

Good luck!

BTW, there is one on there with a supercharger. I might trade the 5 speed for one of those.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/ctd/1348583456.html Another 5 speed, but its white instead of green.

when you look at craigslist, make sure you so 4Runner, as well as 4 (space) runner. Brings up different results. it erases the "4" So I entered toyota runner, and found the white one. If you need someone to roadtrip to Portland for one, let me know!!

Thanks for the heads up I'll try that. I found the green one, but I'm shooting for something with around 130K or below as my goal. Thanks again though

I was lucky enough to find mine exactly when i needed a new daily driver. Saw it on a Tuesday, and it was mine Thursday for $4000. But every time I go out on a trial I wish that it had e-locker. I believe mine has it all, other then the locker and a supercharger.... for now. Everything is in the sig. I have yet to see another manual 3rd gen 4runner, but I know that they are out there. My runner originally came from New Hampshire. Good luck with the hunt for one.

I gave up on finding a 5-speed 4Runner in Florida when my 94 Pickup was totaled. I was out of a truck so I didnt have alot of time to search like someone that already has another vehicle but in the searching I did, I didnt find one. I have a hard time finding 2nd gen 4Runners with a 5-speed too. My dad is looking for one of those right now. Only found 1 in the last few weeks. Its much easier to find a Tacoma with a 5-speed. Thats what I have now. Youll find one eventually. Just be patient. 5-speed + 3.4L = lots of fun.

I looked for about a cpl months hard! Live in Seattle too and my criteria was that I wanted a black AT with locker and leather. Supercharger would be nice if it was w/in my price range and milage limit...........well, I found a black limited one with under 100k with RR but no SC. Gotta compromise on something I guess. I did find quite a few 5spds though, so I know they are out there. CL and Autotrader are your best bet.

besides you can always add the e-locker. I would stick with getting a manny though. I had to take mine with a bunch of miles, swapped in a salvage motor, and new clutch/flywheel.. it runs like a champ now.

It took me more than 6 months to track down a low mileage 99/00 5speed, though I also had a moon roof and gray interior on my list of requirements. The only thing it doesn't have is the elocker, but I'll swap one in eventually.

Last week there were several 5spds available around the SF Bay Area on Craiglist, and there seem to usually be quite a few of them in Colorado.

Good luck with your search!

This is a pretty good craigslist searcher, I found my 4RnR using it. You just have to be prepared to look for a while and then have cash on hand to buy if you want a good price.

found mine on craigslist in Nov and when I saw it was a 5spd with an elocker I jumped. I was hoping for fewer miles on it, but for 8k it already had LC coils in the rear, coilovers in the front, body lift, and a bunch other things that probably saved me another 2k. I thought it was a damn good deal.

It took me a few months to track down what I wanted. Ended up with with 5-speed SR5 with elocker. I had to drive 3 hours to North Carolina from Virginia to get it. I rented a car 1 way.

not all that rare here in Colorado. craigslist had 2 or 3 this summer that I saw and was not looking.

Mine is at 93K miles, I would need over $10K to let it go and only paid slightly more than that 3 years back when it was at 41K miles. (front diff was toast)

02 Limited on sale here now at $8991-price is all relative of course-no idea of mileage

Limiteds are always automatics-or I might have been tempted....

Rear Locker can be had at any trim level.

You have to have the cash on hand to jump as soon as you spot one. As you can see they only last a few days listed or at a car lot.

It's kind of funny. I found my 99 and was really only looking for low miles. I found one with 83k and it happened to have this button thing which was a locker. The kid who sold it to me had never used it-probably the previous owner did not either. Turns out, I scored.

The locker is the only way to go. Because of it, I have never been stuck. Without it, I would have sold the thing long ago.

For those that want to swap one in after the fact, it is easier said than done. Many of those locked axles come with funny ratios. Meaning, you might end up with a 4.3 rear and 4.1/4.56 front. Livable for crawling, but lame for day-to-day driving.

If you want a particular set of features (5-speed), get pre approved/have cash and get friendly with Southwest Airlines. There are certain parts of the country which are overrun with 4runners. Colorado being one of them-Oregon to some degree as well.

High miles isn't a real issue if you live in or around these area. I can sneeze and find all sorts of 4runner parts around. Engines are a mere few hundred bucks.

Oh, I like the five speed. But don't really see the advantage at this point. I have 4 wheeled, towed, commuted with the auto-it rocks. MPG is the same, towing is easier and off roading is a breeze. But hey, if you like it you like it.

Already test drove that one and got it checked out... They owner is bad with maintenance. Or else I would have hopped one it. Its got lots of tiny issues and a few big ones. It just screamed bad maintenance which in my mind means future trouble.

I might end up with a Tacoma instead. I seem to be locating more of this with what I am looking for.
