I too get oil coming from that same line. The top line that comes into the intake.

I have no idea why its coming, and do not get as much as you, but, probably had a good tablespoon in the ridges along the intake tube.

Anyone else have a clue why this is happening?

Ya I'm not sure how long it took for that reservoir to fill up. who knows. I've only had this car a few weeks, and I'm not sure how long its been since the prev owner removed that hose. Hopefully next time a check it. there isnt much in there.

well that looks like more than the normal small amount of oil that does pass through that tube. I would say look into the pcv catch can mod but you look to have mroe than the normal amoutn of oil so look into findign otu why first then consider the mod so you intake doesnt gunk again.

I also have a little oil under my air filter. It has been there for as long as I have had the truck. It has been about a year and a half. It is a 97 4runner with the six.

I would still bet it was the PVC. Even bad ones will let air thru and rattle. If it starts to stick while driving the engine will start to pull air from the return tube and suck oil. Pressure build-up will cause oil to come up that tube. That is one of those things that you just replace every once in a while. Change the PVC, clean out the air tube and air box, replace the air filter, clean the MAS.

X2, I did the catch can mod on that tube but so far I haven't seen a drop of oil in it, not that I'm complaining.
