New Truck, Bad Lift? Pics

I just bought this truck about a week ago and I haven't touched anything yet! Here is the truck and here is how the lift is set up. I got a pretty good deal on it and had and idea I would need to put some work into it which is perfect.. On the highway it scares the crap out of my old lady. There is a pretty good wobble from side to side when I turn or go over a bump and when I release the gas it vibrates like I am driving on the drunk bump. I am going to be taking the blocks off the rear and adding some new leaf springs but as for the front I am not so sure what to do. I am pretty new so I can't tell if that is the best possible way to lift the front and how much is aftermarket products. Any advice would be great.

Here is a pic of my 89' Putting a new coat of paint on this summer and fixing the front fenders.

Looks like a Fabtech lift kit or something similar, the front has drop brackets and if they had to cut out any of the stock mounts to install it, then reversing the set-up may not be possible.

Well when it rain it pours. Was hoping it would be an easy fix to uninstall and replace it all no problem, there's still hope, maybe.

if you can just replace those cracking hardware in the front. that drop bracket lift is supposedly one of the better ways to lift it because it puts all the stock geometry back in the angles. definitely change the rear blocks to stop some axle wrap!

axle warp

Would you believe I am getting such a wobble when I drive on the highway from the axle already being warped?

wobble might be the rack, or rack bushings being shot, inner or outer ti rods, ball joints, ect. just start looking at the front end and see if there is any play in it.

I'm almost positive that is a pro comp 4" drop bracket lift. It looks as though it is and from what I have heard, it isn't the strongest type of drop bracket lift out there. To replace it, you would have to re-weld in the stock crossmember if you can find one and would probably be more work than I would try.

Thanks for the quick responses. Any ideas of ways to fix this front end?
Re-welding the front crossmember sounds tricky and I hope to maybe keep that at worst possible scenario. I appreciate that idea very much and any more ideas. Thanks

I know the back end is a cheap, easy and poor way of doing a rear lift and it will soon be replaced. As for the front I guess it might not be as easy but I really want to work on it and get it right. I am actually excited but it's just a little tougher figuring out where to start on the front, especially being new. Any experiences with similiar lifts or ideas for the front would be great, thanks

your front lift is not all that bad... just inspect everything and check it all out, and def fix that spacer.

rears, might check ttora.com i think that alot of people run the deaver 7 pack over there with a 1" shackle lift to get a good rear lift.

looked up the lift kit and it's definately a Pro-comp system, just found the installation instructions http://www.explorerprocomp.com/PDFs/is/57095.pdf

After reading the installation, they definately cut out the crossmember, so reversing this will be a PITA.
