twice, huh??
I doubt I'll ever really try it, unless I come accross one REALLY, REALLY cheap, but it's just one of those things you have to prove for yourself.

Well, after I pull mine I will put it on here for REAL cheap. Maybe like you pay shipping kind of thing. We'll see. So, keep an eye out for it if you want to.

I got $50 from the poor unsuspecting soul on ebay for my spacer. I was very careful not to mislead on my ad, and I still had people fighting over it

Are there any good places to get deckplates online? I can't seem to find any good boat supply shops around here.

Well, off to eBay mine goes then. I will probably put the K&N FIPK on there too as they seem to do well on there also.

Scroll down about 1/2 way. Be sure to get the black 4" or 5" screw out type.

Will the 6" ones not fit on the 3.4 air box?

That's where mine is going.

After looking at mine (I did a 4" plate), I would have to say a 6" deckplate would be too big. You could probably drill a 6" hole in the airbox but the lip of the deckplate would probably hang over the edge of the box and you wouldn't be able to get a good seal.

Considering that you still have airflow comming in from the elbow and that the intake tube is only 3-4 inches in diameter, do you guys think that a 5 or 6 inch deckplate would really make any difference over the 4?

the deckplate mod will net you 5HP...according to dyno charts
At what RPM though?

Yes, it will fit. However, a small portion of the outer ring overlaps the top of the airbox. You can't notice it unless you are really looking for it. If I could do it all over again, I would go 5".

Good question. It is hard to say because the only dyno charts I have seen have been on Gadget's SC'd 4Runner.

Others have said:

Personally, I felt the difference from about 4K RPM to 5K RPM.

Someone needs to dyno this on a N/A engine.

I guess I will go with a 5" version. I'm glad they come in black so I don't have to take the time to paint it. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, but the MIT looks much less ghetto.

Besides the dirt, I see nothing "ghetto" about my engine compartment. To each his own. I am not disagreeing the MIT looks better, but us penny-pinchers have a hard time justifying an extra $76 for the same "gain."

By all means, get the MIT if you wish. It does look cool.
