My 4Runner today wouldn't stay running after firing it up, just dies...

The short story:
My 2000 4Runner wouldn't stay running after ignition today after work.
I would fire it up, but once it fired up, the RPM just went back down and the 4Runner just shut off. I've applied some gas to it as well while I fired it up.

Gist:
I called AAA, the guy fired it up, and it died the same way the first time.
Then he fired it up again and gave it some gas at 5000RPM, eased off till 4000RPM, and down and down until he let off the gas completely.

// It ran after about 1 minute of mid-range RPM revving.

Looking around, he said that it doesn't seem like the following that's bad:
Battery (2yrs old),
Alternator (Don't know how old, but the sar stays running),
Starter (1yr old),
Spark Plug/Wire (Don't know how old).

He said it could be:
-Not enough fuel in the lines...
-Throttle cable...

Could someone give some input please?

Much appreciated!

Go home, remove your intake tube, take off your throttle body, remove the IAC valve on the bottom of your throttle body. Be careful not to strip the screws, some of them are VERY tight. Get yourself a can of carb cleaner and a bunch of Q-tips. Check to see if the little rotary vlave in there is sticky at all. It probably is. Clean the hell out of it. Go ahead and use the entire can of carb cleaner and make sure you use the q-tips to break up any gunk. Get that rotary valve freed up. Put everything back on and fire it up. It might surge for a while but it should settle down within 5-10 miles. Reset your ECU if you'd like to, your call.

Pro tip: Go ahead and pick up a can of MAF cleaner and clean your MAF while you have your intake off.
