It was actually this person not me but another person that figured out the injector problem. My problem was cam related. Usual way to figure out what injector is going bad is to use a stethescope. you put it on each injector and turn the car off and see which one continues to hiss. Very hard to do on the drivers side as the injectors are under the intake manifold. You can also pull each plug after the engine has run a while and you may find a spark plug wet. No real easy way sorry about that. Maybe the other person can tell you what they did. I did in the past pull all my injectors, i then had an old injector harness that I hooked up. The toyota manual says to use a special injector testing rig. Basically you apply fuel pressure the each injector in a little rig and you then use a 12 volt source to open and close each injector. The injectors are supposed to fly a certain amount of fuel in a certain time frame. Let me know if you want a copy of the manual.
Regards

trial and error. every time i cleared the obd II codes the p0305 would pop up first. as i said before i tried all the electrical stuff. so it had to be fuel related.

Here is what I would do, Take the time belt cover off. Put the crank at top dead center. Look at the timing mark on the passenger head. It will be off by 1 tooth or more. I went though all you did and the final fix was the time belt being off by one tooth on the passenger head. Replaced the belt, make sure absolutely that you get it set and you will not get the code again. Try that if you have not.
