Line-X is tougher than Rhino. I got samples of both and rubbed them together and the Rhino sample started to get sanded off. I did it above a white piece of paper and I could see the Rhino shavings falling on the paper. Rhino is fluffier than line-x and not as dense. I jabbed a knife into both and the knife would barely pierce the line-x and it would go right through the rhino and leave a noticeable gash.

I worked at Rhino for 2 years. It comes off when you rub them together because the Line-x is harder more abrasive than Rhino. You want flexibility in the back of your truck, not hard plastic. Temperature fluctuations will cause cracking to a hard material over time.

I have personally stripped 3 Line-x's out of trucks at a cost of $175 to put Rhino in. That was 6 years ago, things may have changed since then. Rhino is the originator - stick with the best.

You may have a point, but I believe they both come with a lifetime warranty, so if anything happens you take it back to whoever sprayed it and have it fixed for free.

I guess I should say that I top coated the Dupli-color truck bed spray with SEM Chip Guard in satin black to get a slight shine to it. The bed spray by itself is flat black.

The shine of that Dupli-color depends on how you spray it. If you dont spray it on heavy enough it will be rough and flat looking. Thats an easy way to tell you whether you got enough on it or not. On my bed rails and gate I made sure I sprayed it on plenty "wet" and it looks smooth and shiny. I ran out and took a pic this morning for anyone thats interested.

Oh ok, yes I was trying to keep the texture very fine and I didn't put it on very heavy. That's why it was flat for me.

If the Rhino isn't mixed right before it's sprayed it will do alot of funny things. That sample you played with must not have been done right. We've got a bunch of samples ie. hammers, teenage mutant ninja turtle, etc that we let the customer go to town with an exacto knife and after 6yrs, the turtle is still doing fine.

I went ahead today and had the truck bed Line-X'd, over the rail. After this past weekend offroading I really got tired of hearing the bedliner rattle around all day. The rails were in okay shape but some rubbing is evident. On the tailgate it was down to the metal in spots.

There are some spots that the rails rubbed on that are pretty low down on the bed rails so I'll have to have it buffed out I imagine.

Great investment and looks awesome, had them put on the UV protectant spray too. I only wish I had had the cash at the time I purchased the truck to have it done. Drop-in bedliners are the devil!

Good call - I had Rhino lined our 2002 Tacoma and it took FOREVER! I'll go line-X for sure next time around.

I had Rhino Lining in my old 94 Ranger. It was 100 times better than the bedliner that I had. I think mine was just under $400 for over the rail.

For me I went line-x because I liked the look of the material better, not to mention my dad has had line-x on his truck for the past 6 years. I think the only chip in his line-x is from us putting the cherry picker in, other than that the stuff is still going strong.

It might be less expensive and a cost effective alternative but to say it is just as good is hardly true. Line-X is the nicest liquid bedliner available. It is just a question of can you justify the additional cost. It bonds better and lays on smoother, as well as plenty of other benefits to any DIY bedliner.
