I kicked around selling mine and getting the runner sas'd, then getting another truck 2wd just to drive around. I have no idea what I would ask for it??? Traded my baja bug and did put some money and alot of hours into it. What would you pay? https://www.yotatech.com/attachment....achmentid=2757
Fresh 22r w/ weber, tri-y, comp cam and it moves real well!
33's on crawlers and a spare of same in the bed
hybrid springs front and rear/ bout' 30" of travel
interior makeover
5spd L52
regeared to 4.88's
Locked in the rear w/ an aussie
rebuilt both axles and locking hubs
complete re wirng job
msd ignition and carb tuned for angles, does pretty decent
Body is real good, after I fixed the rock dent in the rear
Have roughly 4k into it including cost of the truck, prolly wouldn't fetch that I know but hey?

That's a great looking ride. I'm really looking to find one that's in decent to ˟˟˟˟ty shape for under a grand, and rip it apart and make something awesome. But, apparantly that's pretty hard to find around here, or anywhere, I guess. If I had the spare money, I'd probably give ya $2500 for it.

I would shoot for 3k, but would prolly settle on 2.5k if I had another ride I was looking at for a good deal.
I am having a blast w/ this truck though.... always good to have a trail only rig!

It's right on the Lake... If you know Richard and Dianne Henson it's right next to thier place. Almost the last right before you get to the Border Check. Theres a store called Prince's... right across from there is where I always turn off the main drag. Theres also some guy that sells burritos that are pretty tasy!

Is Kirkland any smaller than Oroville? If it is you really live in a small town!

I bought a 2wd 1992 reg cab pickup with 110 k miles on it and in decent shape for 3,000 $. I am still wondering if I got riped off. I figure if something major brakes then I got ripped off if not not then it was a OK deal. Tell me what tree mowing is and maybe I will give it a try.

flecker, i think 3k would be a decent asking price seeing how the truck is practically good as new as far as the drivetrain. it's pretty damn sharp looking, too

Kirkland is part of the greater Seattle area so it is huge.
I know exactly where they (he used to) live. I was trying to date their daughter in highschool. haha
And I used to work at Prince's in highschool. You must be talking about the taco wagon. I go back there to visit about twice a year. When do you make it up there?
Small world.

Kyle... the drivetrain is pretty close to new, but you know how it goes. You never get out what you have in to it. The picture makes it look better I think than in person... just rattlecanned it krylon khaki

Waterboy... I have been there twice in the last three years, so not that often really. Yup, the Taco wagon! Not bad for being 6 or 7 miles from the canadian border We may sneak up there sometime around July or so, not certain yet. Might sell the place and buy something else a little closer to home. As for trying to date thier daughter... that either makes you about my age, or in your early 20's. I have met both thier girls...

i did a little looking for miscellaneous parts on ebay yesterday and i found 3 '79-80 4x4s in probably better shape than that one talked about in this thread. the most expensive one was $950, under the "buy it now" option. i think all of them ran(key word: think!)

i picked up an '80 FSM there 2 days ago for $5.50! anxiously waiting for it to come in the mail, so i can start researching for my 20R buildup

Rich and Dianne are my wifes cousins... Ha ha. Jennifer moved to Yakima I think, or maybe Wenatchee? Yeah she was a cutey! If I do make it up this summer I'll try and hook up with you! Don't know the area real well so I might need a guided tour of good wheeling/ fishing spots!

Kyle, sweet score on the fsm. I would love one... but my truck is becoming Frankentruck. All the different year parts. You gonna stick with the 20r and build it up? Sounds like a good plan I went 22r cause they were actually cheaper than the 20r, and they are getting harder to find stuff for.
Wish I had the 20r in there when I got mine instead of that 21ru freak motor.

not too hard to find 20R parts up here. seems like that's all i ever find in the junkyard, lots of old mid 70s hiluxes but very few 80s ones. i have a parts engine in the back yard that i'm gonna cannibalize the head, intake, and maybe the block and rods off of though...i'll have to take a look at it, it's pretty siezed up since it's probably sat for 10 years with no oil pan

i figure that FSM will do some good for the motor, t-case and some other minor things. i've heard they have a pretty good section on setting up gears in there...something i've wanted to try for a long time

Exactly...Why has an 18 year old post about the value of a vehicle been revived? And in the wrong forum?

Generally speaking a vehicle depreciates to its lowest value in the 15-20 year old span, sometimes down to scrap value. Then a well maintained vehicle usually begins to appreciate. The only real way to determine its value is an appraisal.

As an example a 67 Camaro sold for about 4 grand new, in the mid eighties it was just a rusted out old Camaro worth little more then scrap. Price one today!
