a rebuild with a LC cam and header would make that thing amazing. They also have a bored out throttle body that would be sweet too. Changing the gears make a huge difference too. Gearing is everything actually.

Use the supra motor, this is best Idea I have seen yet. It is an inline 6 and can be built anywhere from mild to wild. I-6's I have been told last a long time, get great tourque and fair MPG.
In Fresno with a V-8 you Will have cooling problems unless you upgrade the radiator. even then you might still have them.
If you have to have a v-8 look into the lexus v-8 from 93-96? That would be great, toyota reliability, and v-8 power.

when/if the 3.slo goes, I will seriously consider the lexus v-8
