Help w/ Sluggish Power Locks & Fuse Issues

I just bought my first 4runner, 98 Limitted, and love it! But the fuse for the power locks, windows, etc blew out after two weeks. I found an extra one in the glove box so I'm assuming this has happed to the previous owner. The only thing I can associate it with is after the 4R sat in the sun for a while, it's black so gets really hot!

The next part of the problem is after messing with the fuse the power locks are sluggish. They work for about four lock/unlocks then feel like they lose power and locks only go half way up/down. I was thinking the fuse might be due to a short somewhere in the lock system but I really don't know much about it and the wires all seem to be in xcellent shape.

Anyone have any ideas? Is there a relay for the locks somwhere or a ground that could be causing the problem? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Similar problem on another forum. Wires apparently run everywhere!

I recently had the same issue with both drivers side locks....not going all the way down when it sits in the sun all day. I ended up replacing the lock actuators on both doors and they work great.

yeah, think I'm gonna start with the actuators and see what that does. I found some generic ones on ebay, anyone know a good place to get them?

I bought used OEM actuators on ebay. I had to look for a few weeks before I found them posted....

Here are the ones I used:

It was the actuators, somehow I shorted out all the motors... ˟˟˟˟ty! Ended up taking them out of a late 90's camry at the salvage yard, breaking them open and swapping out the little lever mechanisms, works great. Still not sure what's causing my short though, are there any common wiring short locations?
