difference between 234-9001 and 234-9002 Air/fuel sensors?

Deos anyone know if there is a real difference between 234-9001 and 234-9002 Air/fuel sensors?
The Denso website and the URDUSA site lists the proper front sensor as the 9002 for the 99/00 Cali Auto 4WD.
However, both websites list the 2000 Tacoma Cali V6 Auto (does not specify trans) as the 234-9001.
What gives? Are these things interchangeable?
I found a deal on a 234-9001 if I can actually use it in my 4Runner.
Anyone know? Could it even be something simple like pigtail length or connector type?
