Pink Milkshake

Hello all!

I had the pink milkshake on my 99 4Runner at 134000km. I had the engine flushed twice, transmission flushed 3 times, change the transmission filter, and even after that my transmission fluid was never transparent. (Sign that there is still water in it!) So I continued by myself changing transmission fluid EVERY WEEK for two months! Until transmission fluid is identical to the fluid in a new bottle! My truck is now at 240000km and running like new!
I think i've made it thru!
Best luck to all of you!
By the way i'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada

My wife was driving our 1999 4runner LTD last week and it got a pink milkshake while I was out of town working. I'm going to change the rad, flush the coolant, install an external transmission cooler and flush the ATF. What is the proper order to do this?

The tragic part of all this is I've had all the parts and fluids sitting in storage for a month while I waited for an opportunity to do the service.

I had the same problem and ended up replacing after 6 months, did use an external tranny cooler on new system!! They pulled my tranny totally off and flushed with water until she ran clean.... Filters changed and all... Still went! ;-) my son has since rolled the rig with only 600 miles on that new 4200 tranny job!!!!!! UGH!!!!

I'd be pissed if a shop flushed my transmission with water.
