99 4runner-extended cranking time to start?
#41
But since this is a thread about starting issues. I have one. My 3.0 is losing fuel pressure after sitting over night. It takes awhile to start once I start cranking. But once I start it in the morning there is no problem starting it the rest of the day. First thing I did was I went out first thing and just cracked open the front banjo bolt on the fuel rail, and it didn't squirt out or leak out gas. And it should have. Even after a week of sitting they still have pressure in them. Maybe not as much , but they still have enough pressure to squirt out gas. So I knew I was loosing pressure. So of course the first thing I thought was fuel pump. (Check valve in pump) but that didn't take care of it. So the next thing I did was fuel pressure regulator. ( which was a used but good one) and that didn't take care of it. And I had already replaced the fuel filter and injectors for a different reason. But it was doing it before I replaced the injectors. I don't think it's a leaking injector because I took off the phlenum and put in the jumper wire and let the fuel pump run and I can see all injectors and fuel rails. No leaks I can see. I don't think it's an injector sticking open cause I can't smell any gas in the oil and plus these are new. It has to be a leak somewhere. But where else could it be? I've laid under the truck with it running to see if I could find a leak but nothing. Unless I got a new fuel pump that had a bad check valve and a used fuel pump with a bad check valve or a fuel pressure regulator that works fine on another truck, then I'm stumped.
