99 4Runner ABS issues?
#21
Yes it will. I had a problem with my ABS a while back it just started this loud screaching sound from the pump. So I pulled the fuse from the fusebox under the hood. It's clearly labled "ABS" and it's a 60A yellow fuse. (I have an 01) The ABS, VSC, and BRAKE! lights will be illuminated after you pull these. Kind of annoying but I guess you could pull those lights out too if you wanted. Or do one of the tempoary disable mods.
NOTE: The ABS fuse is screwed in from the bottom and you need to remove the inner tray of the fusebox and unscrew the fuse before just pulling it out. I used this writeup here to give an idea of how to pull it out.

I've got the same issue with my 2002 4Runner Sport Edition. I recently has the SS 1.2 lift put in along with the Tundra brake upgrade. Ever since, my ABS cycles as soon as I start my car when it's still in park and even when I'm gently braking downhill or in stop-and-go traffic. I've taken it to the mechanic and they haven't been able to find anything wrong with it. Wouldn't a bad speed sensor register a code on the computer? Does anyone have photos or a diagram showing how to access the speed sensors to clean them? Thanks.

Thanks for the advise. I had my CV axels swapped out this weekend and ended up leaving the repair shop with the ABS pulsating at every stop. After paying a "mechanic" I went home and removed the driver side sensor and cleaned it. It now works like it is supposed to.

I am trying to replace a wheel sensor and I can't get the stupid thing out! I have tried pulling, prying, yanking........I can twist it and wiggle it a little but it will not pull out. Any advice?
