I took it out for a short drive and from a full stop and giving it gas, the car stutters just a tad then goes and seems to be fine. Any clue what the heck I did?
When you use the battery method to clear a code, The ECU also 'forgets' all it knows about how to trim and time the engine. So it may just be re-learning your engine. This is normal. Give it some time and see if it improves.

Thanks! My CEL came back on so I replaced the MAF. This time I went to Autozone and used their machine to delete my code. Hopefully this does the trick.

Did deleting the code work? I've cleaned my MAF and then replaced front O2 sensor on my 99 4Runner, disconnecting the negative terminal after each, and the CEL came back both times.

I have a 98 3.4 Taco engine in a 95 4runner with 95 exhaust system (bought it this way). Any opinions if the front sensor is O2 or A/F?

You should have an O2. A/F's started in '99.
