1999 4runner limited 4wd power steering problems/slipping
Hello there guys and gals this is my first post here so you know i am a roke but hers my problem : My 4runner has about 235k milles and when i got it( not too long ago) i noticed steering was slipping a little bit when the vehicle wasn't mooving .it progressed and become worst so heres what i did to it : I replaced the power steering pump cleened the power steering filter and the belt but no luck got little better for a little bit but got worst again so today i changed the rack and pinion and tie rod ends still no improvement,this thing is pissing me off (i forgot to mention i am using full syntetic atf in the system)

Lower ball joints. Just before they fail they cause binding in the steering system which is why your pump is working so hard. On these trucks, LBJ failure is typically catastrophic. by design, the ball is being pulled out of the socket. Newer runners have the fail safe version. Aftermarket parts typically fail within a year so go with oem.
