Hehe... Hmmmm, well, I guess since most on here consider "JEEP" to be the dark side.... Wouldn't this be, rather, ........."The Gray"?????? lol.
Actually, I LOVED my Chevy..... had more Ford's in my life, but LOVED the Chevy's and the GMC's.... And Just remembered, I had a 78 GMC Shortbed 4x4 that had a 260 V6, 3 on the tree... Put a Hurst Kit in the floor, loved that truck! It was black with a white shell, TOTALLY looked like a Highway Patrol PU that they ran out here, lol.
81..... Gonna throw up a link for me?

ALRIGHT!!!
The time has come boys!
1983 Toyota Pickup 4x4 with a rebuilt 22R (That he did a horrible job on)
Sitting on 35x15.50R15 Super Swamper TSL SX's
And a 3 inch body lift. Rhino linered and painted green on top.
Definitely a project truck but for an 83 it literally has no rust except for a 6 inch section inside of the bed on the passenger side.
Besides that nothing.
The sliding back glass was replaced with a solid back glass.
The motor has a new crank, honed and bored block, new pistons, new rings, had a head job done with new valves, he put the motor together in about 10 hours and he rushed through it.
So im having to go behind him and fix his mistakes (Which there are a lot of them)
But, for the price i got it for, and its an 83 model...I didn't do halve bad. Cranked the motor last night and it runs, but it needs some tlc and some patience.

Yeah it's def gonna be a project lol he's got this thing rigged as it gets.
Supposedly he told me he knew what he was doing...and he didn't
So I took the valve cover off to check the clearance on the rocker arms and the thing is missing a head bolt so now my plan is to take this motor out and rebuild. Because if he half arsed this, what else did he not do?
Thankfully, I've still got my other truck for transportation and this will just take some time to get right!

Well, i'm officially back!
October of last year i found a 1993 Toyota pickup DLX with 123,000 ORIGINAL miles on it for $4,000.
The man was the original owner and was in the military overseas for the past 10 years or so. Finally got tired of it sitting in the garage and decided to sell it.
The only major thing wrong with the truck (Besides the ball joints and dry rotted CV axle boots) was 4th gear syncro's are stripped out.
I was going to purchase a rebuild kit and rebuild the transmission myself but for a few extra hundred dollars, i purchased a rebuilt W56 with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty from C&K Auto parts. (if anyone needs transmissions, engines or major drivetrain components, i recommend these guys because they have never failed me and they have pretty decent prices. let me know if anyone is interested in their contact information)
SO, last week i placed the order on the Transmission which should be here wednesday/thursday this week dependent on fedex.
I also purchased a Pro Clutch and pro 35lb Flywheel bundle from LCE Performance which should be arriving any day now.
My plans were to have both of them here by this weekend and do the install since i had this week off but the shipping wasn't going to make it in time.
Also, when coming out from dinner the other day, i noticed the rear passenger wheel well had some fluid leaking. Upon further inspection, my passenger side axle seal has started leaking (in the last 100 miles or so) as well as my rear differential!
So i crawled under the truck whenever i got home and the differential breather was plugged which caused that pressure to overcome the seal.
So i topped off the gear fluid in the rear (about 1/2 quart) and went to purchase the parts the next day for the seal job.
The Autozone down the road not only had never heard of a differential breather, but had no way of getting me one for the truck.
A little research online and the part number for that breather union is 90930-03136. Amazon.com has them for like $8.99
I'm not going to install the breather itself just because they have a tendency to plug up, like in my case, from mud/dust that seals the cap. So i'm going to use the union to screw into the Diff housing and run some 1/4" fuel line under the bed of the truck somewhere.
I plan on doing possibly the wheel seal and breather this week and will post some pictures with it. And whenever i get the time to install the transmission, clutch and flywheel, ill have some pictures of that as well. Then, in the near future i will be moving on to a set of 5.29 gears once i recoup a few dollars. Haven't decided yet if i'm going to tackle that myself just yet or send them off to ZUK. (Ken is a super nice guy BTW and i recommend him for ANY of your gear install needs. A quick pricing phone call turned into a 2 hour and 15 minute conversation full of laughs and stories) http://gearinstalls.com/
I know you guys have probably all heard about him, but if not, look him up.
For some reason my account on here has been acting up and i had to verify it 3 different times before being able to even comment on my own threads and for some reason i cannot find an option to post a new build thread for this truck. If anyone can give me some pointers on that, i would greatly appreciate it!
Hope all is well with everyone, i will be updating in the near future!
