Got the axle torn down all the way, went smooth, no broken studs or anything. Found some water in the passenger knuckle but no rust or anything, can't wait to clean her out and grease it back up!
Cone washers were a snap using brass to hit them studs with, steer arm cone washers were a bit more of a pain!
Used the screwdriver/hammer method to get those 54mm spindle nuts off and worked great. Also noticed some previous screwdriver marks : p
And where I'm at now. Still have to clean all the parts out, cut everything off the housing I don't need and sand it down well. Kit will be here sometime next week for reassembly!

Extra brackets all cut off and smoothed out.
Primered and painted.
Burning in Sky's Toyota truss.
Grabbed a stock 8" diff with 4.88's out of a v6 4runner with only 150k on it!
Reassembly! Full rebuild kit, bearings, seals, grease.
Torqued and assembled up to spindle!
Locking hubs all tore apart, painted and cleaned up and lightly greased for reassembly.
All put together!!
Drool...
Ordering all the misc I need to complete the SAS when I get my next paycheck in!

Still waiting for a good time to get this SAS started, since this is my DD.. Works busy, as is school so I'll have to plan something soon!
In the mean time I got my tax return and gladly spent it on a new softopper and TG rear tube bumper! Was going to fab up my own bumper but ended up going the easy way. Looks great and super stoked on the topper!!

Great build. Your axle rebuild looks great. I just finished mine aswell and it feels great to know it's all fresh. Looks like you spent your tax return very wisely my friend.

Lots of work indeed but should be well worth it!!
Yeah I love looking at how clean it looks but would rather be staring at it under the truck! Haha. Already in love with this topper and I've had it for like 2 days, well worth the $$

SAS Basically finished! Still need to set some bump stops and a few other misc things but super happy with the out come!
Here is my build thread if anyones interested!

Few pics of how she sits now! It's about 3" lift in the rear and around 4"ish up front so planning on grabbing some chevy springs at the local yard to get the back up a bit and most likely be getting some 35's soon!
Also.. Went to the local pick n pull the other day and grabbed something pretty special for only $80!! Factory E-locker with 4.30's, factory switch, most of a harness, and 4wd ecu! Pretty stoked!

Right? Now I need to decide to sell it or regear it :O
Thanks man! Well worth the time and $$
Well... Decided against buying the 33's because I found a great deal on CL.. A set of Federal Couragia M/Ts on some new Fuel Trophy wheels.. 35x12.50R17.. I was hooked on the wheels and was instantly drawn in haha..
Tread looks around 80-90% and the wheels are in great condition. Both are only about a year old as well..
I had to buy some of those skinny lug nuts with the special socket to put them on which was a little extra $$ but oh well I love the look.
Need a little extra lift in the rear because I can tell they'll rub when compressed

Awesome build. I like your suspension setup before the sas. I think I want to lift mine the same way you did yours. So you had the pro comp shocks, 6 inch trial gear shackles, 2 inch blocks, ball joint spacers, sway bar spacer and 1" inch body lift? Is that right?

Yup that's right. I had the torsion bars cranked too.. The ride quality was horrible though haha. Idk if it was just me but after installing the BJ spacers no one could do a front end alignment within spec so it ate my old tires up.. I never tried a 4x4 shop though just all the big name shops.
